Skilled Sri Lanka (Planned 2027)
Skills are the foundation of financial independence, and for people with disabilities, access to quality vocational training is not just an opportunity but a necessity. With that conviction at its core, DLFF has designed a revolutionary initiative called Skilled Sri Lanka, built in close partnership with the Sri Lankan Government to create the most effective and inclusive skills development system the country has seen.
Sri Lanka’s Government already has a strong foundation in vocational training through national institutions. However, significant barriers continue to prevent many from benefiting. Training facilities lack accessibility for people with disabilities, trainers have limited knowledge and experience in working with PWDs, course offerings are often outdated and disconnected from the current labour market.
Skilled Sri Lanka addresses these gaps head on. DLFF is working directly with these government institutions to strengthen their capacity, modernise their approach, and make their services genuinely accessible and relevant.
